Sebastien Ogier, again world champion, has not yet decided his plans for 2027, but he has confirmed that he will not participate in the season opener of the World Rally Championship in Monte Carlo next year.

The French driver, who set a new record of 214 races run in the WRC during the last event of the season in Sardinia, has hinted that he will be less active on the circuit next year.

When asked about his future, Ogier stated that it is certain he will not compete in Monte Carlo for the first time since 2011, for family reasons. With a record of 10 victories in this rally, his absence will be notable.

“As you know, I will not be in Monte Carlo, and I am not sure if I will participate in any other events for now. There are still no plans, but we will see,” commented the Frenchman.

Ogier pointed out that he prefers time to reflect before making decisions, although he expresses his desire to continue contributing to the world of rallying. “I am happy to have a break and think about it. I still enjoy what I do and feel that I can contribute more to the sport,” he added.

Moreover, the Toyota driver has decided to reduce his commitments in the WRC since 2022, when he completed a partial campaign between the WRC and the World Endurance Championship. Since 2023, he has increased his presence in the WRC, finishing 2025 with 11 out of 14 rallies and achieving his ninth world crown.

Despite the uncertainty, Toyota is expected to announce its driver lineup for 2027 soon.
