Jost Capito has thanked Adam Carter for his work as he has left the Williams F1 Team after more than five years with the outfit.

In the ongoing re-shuffle, engineering director Carter has left Williams Racing ahead of the 2022 F1 season. He is the second key figure to leave after Simon Roberts under Dorilton Capital, who hired former Volkswagen boss Capito in the Chief Executive Officer role.

Since taking the position, Capito has roped in Francois-Xavier Demaison in the technical director role, while Sven Smeets is now the sporting director – both having worked with the Williams CEO together at Volkswagen during the WRC days.

Carter joined Williams in May 2016 and has held multiple positions in the engineering department. Prior to the work with the Grove-based F1 outfit, he has worked with Renault (now Alpine) and McLaren along with teams like Jordan and Arrows.

“As we look ahead at our engineering strategy and requirements for the next year and beyond, we have made changes in our engineering structure,” said Capito, in a short statement shared by Williams. “Adam Carter has left the team and I would like to thank him for his hard work and contribution over the last 6 years.”
