Alfa Romeo Racing F1 team has teamed up with Creightivist for charity work to help Save The Children initiative as Ferrari has updated on resumption of work.

Alfa Romeo has made its first announcement with regards to charity work amid the COVID-19 pandemic as it teams up with Creightivist in aide of Save The Children under #GarageTime campaign to help children in poor regions, crisis areas and refugee camps.

Whoever buys an apparel from Creightivist, he/she will contribute towards the fund, whose proceeds will be used to help the needy children. The collection items are marked with a numbered key ring to keep exclusivity of the range which will go down in history.

The campaign will be on until the resumption of the F1 season. Alfa Romeo team principal Frederic Vasseur said: “Sharing is caring and solidarity in the truest sense of the word is the only way to cope with the crisis affecting the entire world.

“Social responsibility has always played an important part of our corporate culture. I am proud that we, as Sauber Group, in cooperation with our partner Save the Children and Creightivist, are devoted to turn this crisis into an opportunity to support the most fragile members of the global society: the children worldwide.”

Meanwhile, Kimi Raikkonen added: “Not every child has a shelter in times of pandemic, so it is important we do what we can to help Save the Children reach out to them. I invite you all to join us in the #GarageTime project and play your part to support children in need.”

And Omer Guven, CEO of Save the Children Switzerland added: “We are delighted to witness the launch of the # GarageTime apparel line. All the parties involved are showing their strong commitment to support children in emergency situations.

“One hundred and one years after the foundation of Save the Children, in 1919, we celebrate heroes who make our work possible including the entire Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN team and their fans.”

On the other hand, Ferrari has noted about the work resumption at Maranello and Modena under ‘Installation Lap’ which is part of the ‘Back on Track’ project. Part of the work has begun with the Italian manufacturer helping out health officials.

The idea is resumption of production from May 4 onward, while full production is slated to be done from May 8. Reports suggests the F1 side will also start working but it won’t start together with the road car production as the FIA has extended its shutdown.

Ferrari release added: “The Company will provide checks at the entrances to the workstations, PPE and rules for sharing common areas. It has reorganised its environments and has provided the best tools to its staff for a smooth and safe return to work. For example, workers are offered voluntary serological tests before going back to work.”

Aside Ferrari, Charles Leclerc also was involved in a charity where helped in transporting materials to Princess Grace Hospital Centre and distributed meals to Red Cross volunteers and the elderly, being an ambassador of Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.
