Tristan McKee, a young legendary driver in the making, will make his debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Spire Motorsports at Richmond Raceway on August 14, shortly after his 16th birthday. This addition is part of Spire’s driver development program, known as the Ascent Driver Development Program.
Due to his age, McKee will compete only on 1.25-mile tracks or smaller. Spire has also confirmed that this will not be an isolated debut, as McKee is scheduled to participate in races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on August 22, Bristol Motor Speedway on September 17, Phoenix Raceway on October 16, and Martinsville Speedway on October 30 of this year.
Behind the wheel of the Chevrolet Silverado number 77, McKee will work under the guidance of his crew chief, Chad Walter. The young driver has expressed his gratitude for the opportunity he is being given, highlighting the positive impact it will have on his career.
At just 12 years old, McKee already made history by becoming the youngest winner of the CARS Tour with a victory at Dillon Motor Speedway, and since then, he has accumulated a series of wins in various competitions, including Trans-Am and the ARCA Menards Series. In just nine ARCA races, he has achieved two victories, including his first at Watkins Glen in 2025.
Spire co-owner Jeff Dickerson has commented on McKee’s potential, emphasizing that he has earned this opportunity and that the team is hopeful about his performance during the five scheduled races.
