In a recent episode of the podcast “Up To Speed“, Buxton analyzed the current situation of Red Bull’s drivers, highlighting the increasing competition within the team. With speculation about a possible release clause in Verstappen’s contract, the situation has become complicated once again for the Milton Keynes team.
Buxton commented that Red Bull finds itself at a difficult crossroads, with too many drivers for its available spots. “Whether Max stays or is replaced, if the rumors are true, the situation is complicated for the team,” Buxton said.
According to Buxton, Isack Hadjar is doing an exceptional job, while he praised his teammates Arvid Lindblad and Liam Lawson, who are also achieving notable results. Additionally, he mentioned Nikola Tsolov, an F2 driver who has achieved three consecutive victories, highlighting the high competition within the team and the league.
Former driver David Coulthard added that while the dilemma may be complicated, it is a good problem to have. “Red Bull has invested a lot in its drivers over time, and they don’t seem to worry about the financial impact of this situation,” Coulthard noted. “We expect to see more from Tsolov, who also has a great personality off the track”.
