Mercedes has shared first-look of its 2026 F1 car and livery in an online launch, with a full launch to take place post the Barcelona shakedown.

In a dual launch, Mercedes showcased its 2026 F1 livery aboard the W17 on Thursday, with a full launch to take place on February 2 post the four-day Barcelona shakedown. It is different style of launch from the German outfit, who usually does one full-scale launch with track shakedown.

This time they have opted for dual launch considering a private shakedown put in place by F1 and FIA. Mercedes retains its corporate silver colour, but it is presented in a different way. The PETRONAS green flow remains along with Mercedes’ silver and black. The top of the sidepod has AMG-specific rhombus signature, alongside the iconic star.

Mercedes is starting the new era with George Russell spearheading the F1 team alongside Andrea Kimi Antonelli. The power unit is reported as the best of the lot, with rivals already voicing concern. It remains to be seen how they shape-up after faltering in the last regulations that started in 2022.

“Formula One will undergo significant change in 2026, and we are prepared for that transition,” said Toto Wolff. “The new regulations demand innovation and absolute focus across every area of performance.

“Our work on the new car, and the long-term development of the Power Unit and advanced sustainable fuels with PETRONAS, reflects that approach. Releasing the first images of the W17 is simply the next step in that process. It represents the collective, sustained effort of our teams in Brixworth and Brackley. We will continue to push hard in the months ahead.”
