Marc Márquez achieved his eight pole position of the season in MotoGP, after a dominant qualifying session at Philip Island, Australia. The Honda rider will start alongside Ducati of Andrea Iannone, who beat the title contender, Jorge Lorenzo.

In Q1 we live a great battle for top2 between the Espargaró brothers, Danilo Petrucci, Jack Miller and Hernández. The Catalan brothers dominated the session in front of Petrucci, Barberá, Miller, Laverty, Hernández, Bautista, Baz, Hayden, Bradl, Di Meglio, West, Elias and Cudlin.

In Q2, Márquez set the pace early on in front of Lorenzo and Aleix Espargaró. The reigning world champion ride very aggressive, having some big moments touching the asphalt. But anyone beat him in any moment.

Before the checker flag, Iannone took second place but then it was Pedrosa who put his bike in a provisional one two, because Iannone improved again for second position in front of Lorenzo. Fifth was Crutchlow, then Viñales, Rossi, Aleix Espargaró, Pol Espargaró, Dovizioso, Redding and Bradley Smith.
