Kimi Räikkönen was the fastest driver of the last free practice session at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit he is devoted to. Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton completed the top 3.

On the first run with the supersoft compound, the Ferraris and Hamilton were on the same tenth. Räikkönen was slightly faster than the rest, while Bottas and Red Bull were not too far behind. However, Ricciardo and Verstappen were unable to match Ferrari and Mercedes with the ultrasoft compound. Räikkönen was 2 tenths ahead of Vettel and Hamilton, while the Red Bulls and Bottas were more than a second slower after the first attempt with those tyres.

There were no improvements in the second ultrasoft attempt, so Räikkönen stayed on P1 with a new track record. The midfield battle was very intense between all teams except Sauber, so the fight for Q3 will be very tight in a couple of hours in qualifying.
