Matthieu Vaxivière will start from pole position this afternoon for Race 1 of Formula V8 3.5 at Silverstone, UK. The Frenchman will start alongside Orudzhev and Nissany.

The Formula V8 3.5 is back this weekend at Silverstone. With Friday dominance by the Lotus drivers, Roy Nissany was the favorite to set the pole position today.

In the early minutes, Beitske Visser (Teo Martin Motorsport) started leading the way, but quickly the battle for the pole was all about Arden Motorsport drivers, Egor Orudzhev and Aurélien Panis, Matthieu Vaxivière (SMP Racing), Louis Delétraz (Fortec Motorsports) and the Lotus.

In the first stint, Roy Nissany (Lotus) continued his dominance with a lap time of 1:41.621, ahead of Yu Kanamaru (Teo Martin Motorsport) and Aurélien Panis.

The time was running out and the lap times didn’t improve despite the new set of tyres. But with two minutes to go, Matthieu Vaxivière improved the lap of Nissany for a provisional pole ahead of championship leader Tom Dillmann (AVF).

Vaxou” set finally the pole position ahead of Orudzhev who continues on his great comeback in the championship. Friday star, Roy Nissany finished third ahead of Dillmann and Delétraz.
