Frederic Vasseur says that they are miles away in terms of team structure at Ferrari as he feels there is no resting moment to not change.
Ever since Vasseur came into Ferrari as its F1 team principal, the Frenchman has been on with changes on the team’s structure side whether its people leaving or joining. Despite with host of changes and months gone, they are still miles away as per the boss.
He is of the view that a team structure cannot be kept as the same for a long time and they have keep evolving as the team goes by. “We are miles away because when you are doing my job you don’t have to imagine that there is a perfect structure,” said Vasseur to media. “You always need to improve and always need to change things.
“If you stay with the same structure two years in a row then you are dead, because all the others will improve. It means that I don’t have a clear picture to say I have to do this and full stop and it will work. It would be stupid. We will make some changes in the coming weeks, in the coming months in the coming years, because some topics are a bit longer than some others. But it’s a permanent evolution and permanent improvement.”
Whether it is due to changes made by Vasseur or not, Ferrari seems to have made some progress this year from where it started even though the inconsistency remains. The Frenchman says they are now getting a much clearer idea for the years ahead.
“We are starting to have a much better idea of the situation, and where we are weak, and where we are in better shape,” said Vasseur. “But this I will keep it for me. Sorry! But for sure race after race we are starting to have a much better picture of the situation.”
