The French rider Fabio Quartararo recently commented on the difficulties that his Italian counterpart Francesco Bagnaia is experiencing. While Bagnaia struggles to recover his performance, his teammate, Marc Márquez, enjoys an excellent moment, which has led Quartararo to reflect when asked about the similarities between both situations.
Although both riders are world champions and will change teams next season, their experiences are notoriously different. Quartararo will leave Yamaha after eight years to join the Honda team, while Bagnaia, who has made history with Ducati, will join Aprilia.
Currently, with eight races ahead, Bagnaia occupies the ninth position in the championship, with four podiums behind him, in contrast to Quartararo, who is in 15th place and has not managed to reach the podium this year. The Frenchman acknowledges that his last appearance among the top three was last year at Jerez.
Moreover, Quartararo has expressed his dissatisfaction with the performances of the M1, which has caused some tension with Yamaha. When comparing their situations, Quartararo stated that if he were Bagnaia, he would be furious about his teammate’s performance.
“If Alex Rins, Jack Miller, or Toprak Razgatlioglu were winning, I would be in a bad situation. That depends on many things, but personally, if my teammate is winning, I would be very angry,” he expressed.
With rain expected next weekend, which could further affect the performance of his bike, Quartararo hopes that the conditions do not become an additional complication.
