MotoGP released the spectator attendance data for the 2019 season as Thai GP topped the charts ahead of the French GP.

Fans flocked the gates of the Chang International Circuit in Buriram as Thai GP had the most number for the 2019 MotoGP season with 226,655 of them visiting a grand prix, ahead of the French GP at Le Mans circuit.

It was an increase from 2018 when it hosted 222,535 fans as the grand prix in France had 206,323 in all, which saw a fall of 294 from 2018. The Thai GP saw Honda’s Marc Marquez win to seal the 2019 MotoGP title, his career’s eighth championship.

The French GP also had a Marquez victory, while the third most attended German GP at Sachsenring with 201,162 fans, also saw a win for the Spaniard. This was the first time since 2016 that Germany saw over 200,000 attend the grand prix weekend.

In fourth came Austrian GP, which has been voted as the best MotoGP weekend, with 197,315 fans as the Top 5 was rounded out by Czech GP with 186,793. The race at Red Bull Ring had Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso win, while Brno saw Marquez on top spot again.

In terms of the race day only figures, the Dutch GP at Assen saw 105,000 fans witnessing Yamaha’s Maverick Vinales win, with French GP coming next with 104,020 fans at Le Mans watching Marquez win, as the Top 3 was rounded out by Malaysian GP.

The race at Sepang International Circuit had 103,850 fans, who saw Vinales win. Meanwhile, the total number of fans to visit at least one MotoGP race from the 19 which took place, stood at 2,863,113 – which is less than 2018, where 2,884,242 came in.
