Thelastdayon theMotorlandcircuithasnotbeenbetter than thepreviousday.Even though the
teams experienced a lull on Saturday afternoon, with the sun showing a glimpse of itself, Sunday
morning was very wet with an air temperature not higher than 4 degrees.
KoiranenGP triedtoforgetyesterday’sterriblequalifyingasthey allheaded offtothepre-grid,with
Victor Franzoni begining the hostilities for the team. 15 minutes were on for him.
ThesessionbegunverystronglyforVictor whosettled fromtheveryfirstlapthe3rdtimeoverall,he
foughttostayinthetop3,goingfromP2toP3,butgotstuckinthetrafficforthelastremaining5
minutes,anddidamistakeat theendof thestraightlineduringhis flyinglap,whichdidnotallow
him to improve his time. He ended the quali P7, as yesterday.
InGroupA,NyckdeVriestookagoodstartstraight fromthebeginning,settlingtimesinthetop 5
whileGuilhermeSilvabegunslowlybysigningthe11thbesttime.Howeverafterastrongbattleand
lots of improvementsfrom the two young drivers, they managed to finish the Quali P5 and P7.
Onthestartinggrid,rainwasheavierthaninthemorningandtheracebegunundersafetycarforthe
first 10 minutes. When the safety car came back to the pits, Nyck de Vries had a great start
overtaking Pierre Gasly for P8 while Guilherme Silva got Alex Baron for P12. Victor Franzoni also
managed to pass Alex Baron to gain one position.
But on lap 8, Siebert beached ingravelandGuilherme Silva had toavoid collapsing him, dropping
fromP11 toP14andVictorFranzoniP15. NyckdeVries tookadvantageofGhiottomistake togain
one position.
At the chequered flag, Nyck de Vries is P7, Guilherme Silva P12 and Victor Franzoni P13.
