Charles Leclerc has released his first single which is wholly instrumental music where he is playing the piano which he loves to do.

Over the years, Ferrari’s Leclerc has shared his love for the piano and several times teased recording an instrumental music of his own. He has largely kept that side to himself and hasn’t spoken huge deal like Lewis Hamilton or Lando Norris or Daniel Ricciardo, etc, have.

In a recent F1 video where they played the ‘Never Have I Ever’ game, Leclerc further teased about releasing a single when a question popped up about music. Within few days of the release of that video, the Monegasque has released his first single.

Titled ‘AUS23 (1:1)’, it is available on Spotify and other platforms. It is wholly instrumental music where Leclerc is playing the piano, unlike Hamilton who collaborated with Christina Aguilera, where the Brit used ‘XNDA’ name for his verse in her song ‘Pipe’.

The music from Leclerc is 4m11s long and is likely the first of many he could release in future. “I’m excited to share with you a piano song that I’ve been working on, born out of my passion for music and created as a way to disconnect from racing and relax in between races,” wrote the Ferrari driver.

“I’ve created this song around the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix which is why I called it ‘AUS23 (1:1)’. This is the way we call the Australian Grand Prix in my Formula One team and thought it would be a nice connection to the racing world.

“After posting a story on Instagram of me playing that piano piece that I had composed, I had lot of positive feedback from the fans that inspired me to record it, making it easier for my fans to enjoy my music. My love for music has always been there, but it wasn’t until the pandemic that I started playing the piano.

“With more time at home, I decided to buy a piano and learnt to play. Since then, I’ve fallen in love with the instrument and find myself playing it whenever I’m at home,” summed up Leclerc, who is now gearing up for the Azerbaijan GP this weekend.
