GT racer Josef Kral stirred the social media this weekend after his Vlog, where he hinted on Mattia Binotto seemingly being dropped from Ferrari ahead of 2021 F1 season.

The statements from Kral on his vlog was picked up by certain media, who started with Binotto axe stories, crediting the Czech GT racer. The 30-year-old was then forced to clarify his statements, putting them down as his ‘opinion’ rather than reality.

Kral is close to Maranello, considering he drives the Ferrari 488 GT3 car in various sportscar championship, which includes Blancpain GT. He may have more information, but axing of a big personality like Binotto on the brink of the 2021 F1 season, seems a bit far fetched.

On the vlog, it was reported that Kral talked about Ferrari thinking of dropping Binotto if the team has another year like 2020. At the moment, the Italian manufacturer is quite optimistic about 2021, as work goes on for a fresh start from 2022 onward.

Meanwhile, Kral clarified his statements by stating: “Just to make it loud and clear, some of my recent comments about Scuderia Ferrari have been misinterpreted and taken out of context. What I said was based on my own opinion and without any real base or information. I apologise if these speculations have created any issue.”

Ever since the departure of Maurizio Arrivabene, Ferrari has seen several changes under Binotto, with Laurent Mekies taking giant strides. They have been shuffling the departments, even until last week, to achieve a proper work channel.
