In an exciting start to the Chase for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Jake Garcia from ThorSport Racing has secured his first victory in the 94th start of his career.

Garcia surpassed Bayley Currey, who achieved his personal best result in his first competition of the 2026 season, and Stewart Friesen, who finished in third position. Justin Haley provided Kaulig RAM with its first top-five finish, ending fourth.

The top Chase driver was Gio Ruggiero, in sixth place, followed by William Sawalich, Kaden Honeycutt, Ty Majeski, and Grant Enfinger, who completed the Top 10.

In contrast to Garcia, the race was a nightmare for the dominant duo of the season from Front Row Motorsports, Layne Riggs and Chandler Smith, who suffered several issues that hampered their chances. After dominating the first two stages, Riggs ended in 32nd position, his worst finish of the year.

Despite everything, Riggs continues to lead the championship with just three points ahead of Honeycutt, while Smith is 30 points from first place.

Stages 1 and 2

Riggs led the race from the pole position, but problems quickly arose for the Chase drivers. Christian Eckes suffered damage to his right front wheel after colliding with Grant Enfinger, forcing him to enter pit lane for repairs.

Unfortunately, Jackson Macenko was removed from the race for failing to reach minimum speed, while Riggs won Stage 1 ahead of Honeycutt, Smith, Garcia, Majeski, McKee, Hemric, and others.

In the next stage, Riggs once again dominated, finishing Stage 2 with another victory, surpassing Honeycutt, Smith, and Garcia again.

Stage 3

The next round of pit stops proved disastrous for Front Row Motorsports, with Riggs losing five positions due to a slow stop and Smith penalized for speed. Garcia took the lead upon restart, while Riggs was forced to make another stop due to a loose wheel.

The race was halted with a red flag after Caden Kvapil left oil on the track, causing multiple incidents. Once rescheduled, Garcia maintained the lead and extended his advantage over Honeycutt following a debris caution.

The competition intensified when Currey attacked Garcia for the lead, but it was Garcia who ultimately dominated the race, finishing with a 1.3-second advantage over Currey after leading 104 of the 250 laps.
