In a new post to his social media accounts, Sir Lewis Hamilton provides insight into his off-season preparations amid rumours surrounding his contract.

In the video, Hamilton films himself Nordic skiing atop a peak, with two fellow skiers in tow. The seven-time champion, recently knighted, describes this as one of his “favorite places in the world,” before providing more context.

The Brit explains, “[I am] getting my mind and body right. I’m hiking to the top of the mountain every morning. Two of those hikes I cross country ski once I get to the top which is at 3400m, killer. Proper altitude training!” he quips.

Hamilton, among the fittest drivers on the current F1 grid, explains that he is attempting to strike a balance between cardiovascular workouts and strength building. The 35-year-old lost muscle mass after a bout with COVID, and committed to recovering this over the off-season.

“I’m trying to find the right balance in cardio and strength building,” Hamilton said, before hinting at other activities behind the scenes. “On top of that, lots of work ongoing in the background. Many moving parts but just checking in to let you know I’m doing good, I’m healthy and mentally strong right now in my bubble,” he said.

At the end of his message, Hamilton shared a final message: “I hope you are staying as positive as you can with all that is still going on. Keep your head up. I can’t wait to see you all again at some stage soon.”

Hamilton shares his message, and tease at “work going on in the background” amid intense speculation regarding his future, and signing at Mercedes. On Monday, the British team drew attention with a post showing pen, as if to suggest that a re-signing of the F1 champion is in the offing.

The message attached read, “You never know when one of these might come in handy…”

British tabloids have suggested that a signing of Hamilton became complicated by his high demands, but this has yet to be verified by reputable sources, and FormulaRapida.net has not felt confident enough in the reports to publish stories on using such information.

The reports suggests that the demands from Hamilton is higher than Mercedes has on offer, where it seems like a waiting game. With George Russell in the mix, the delay in signing is intense certainly. They have already sorted the team’s and Toto Wolff’s future.
