AlphaTauri has held a world premier of its documentary ‘Whatever it Takes’ in Venice in the presence of Yuki Tsunoda and other F1 team members.

AlphaTauri released a trailer last week about their upcoming documentary film ‘Whatever it Takes’. It is around the journey of the Faenza-based F1 team since it first made it on the grid in 2006 under the guise of Toro Rosso – a junior to senior Red Bull outfit.

It played a key role in developing Red Bull stars like Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, both of whom have won world championships. It also gave way to race winners like Daniel Ricciardo, Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly along with several podium finishers.

The documentary will not only deal with the history of the team but also take us through its base in Italy and the United Kingdom. The film is created by Digital Lighthouse and directed by Luca Curto, who was present at the world premier in Venice on Wednesday.

The 90-minute film – both in English and Italian – features Tsunoda and Gasly along with team boss Franz Tost and will be available on Sky Italy. The Japanese driver was the main hero during the world premier as he went through the famous Canal Grande.

He brought along the AT03 with him on a boat much to the delight of the fans and locals. “I saw lots of things I didn’t know – how the team operates in the background and the amount of people, time and effort that’s put into only two cars,” he said.

“I feel really honoured to be one of the two drivers of Scuderia AlphaTauri and to be able to drive such a high-technology machine. It was nice to see some flashbacks, especially 2021 as my first year in Formula 1, and the drivers who have driven for our team.

“I can say Scuderia AlphaTauri has built a lot of good drivers, and the number of achievements they’ve accomplished is incredible. I’m even more excited and motivated to fight strong for the remainder of the season.”

Meanwhile, team boss Tost noted: “It’s a very interesting film which shows many behind the scenes details. I think this is what Formula 1 fans want to see and the documentary shows it quite well. It’s a lot of work, not only on Sunday with the race, but all the preparation on the technical, marketing and press side. All these different topics have to be coordinated to come together for a successful job during the race weekend.”

And new CEO Peter Bayer added: “It was a spectacular event after the Film festival in the heart of Venice. Scuderia AlphaTauri brought a car to a city with no cars, and we allowed people who attended the premiere to get a glimpse of our life, our emotions and our daily work. I believe this film is a must-see for every Formula 1 fan!”
