Mercedes F1 driver Lewis Hamilton visited the WIRES camp – the organisation he donated to – near Sydney ahead of this weekend’s Australian GP.
When fire raged on in Australia, killing the environment and affecting thousands of animals, F1 drivers and teams rallied together to not only make other people aware but donated themselves in aide of organisations working to minimise damage.
With this weekend’s Australian GP, F1 will also have its own donation camp with the help of the teams as several items are up for auction. Ahead of the start of the race preparation, reigning champion Hamilton made time to visit the WIRES camp.
It is one of the organisations whom Hamilton donated his money. He shared small clips while on his way towards Melbourne but on Monday night, the British racer shared a full video where he talked about visiting the camp and overseeing the efforts made.
Hamilton is also seen feeding several of the young animals who are being taken care by the people at WIRES. The British F1 racer does have an affection towards animals as he turned himself vegan in recent times. His dogs Roscoe and Coco have become celebs as well.

Note: We know that these types of stories is not entirely related to F1 and not termed as ‘proper news’by many but since often we end up doing certain controversial stories about the sport and or the drivers, we think it is our duty to also share the positive messages shared by the same personnel when they look after the environment or other well being.
