Last session of free practice in Austin, with heavy cloud. As usual, at the beginning of the session all drivers were on the hard compound, and it was not until the last fifteen minutes we have seen the medium in action.
The first half was dominated by Red Bull, as usual. With Sebastian Vettel in the lead, scoring a 1:37.4, followed by Webber and Bottas with 1:37.6 and 1:37.7. Actually times in this part of the session have been very close, with rare drivers in the front, which is sensed that the teams have not worked in the same conditions and little can be drawn, except that Red Bull continues as usual. The Ferrari have been especially bad, in very delayed positions.
Everyone has waited to the end to leave with the medium compound in qualifying conditions, and that has struggled them to find a lot of traffic, so again it is difficult to draw too many conclusions, but the Red Bull also dominated in these conditions, and Ferrari were once again very late, in some minutes we will see if they have saved something or suffer again.
