Max Verstappen says he let his action do the talking in F1 Monaco GP after a win, but added that there’s still a long way to go to the end.

Pre-Monaco, there were some words from Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton regarding an on-track clash, considering the two are to fight it out for the 2021 F1 title. The Brit noted about the youngster coming through the ranks, wanting to prove his credentials.

However, Red Bull’s Verstappen stated that he has nothing to prove, with the goal being clear of winning the F1 title. The Monaco GP win helped him to eke out a points lead for the first time in 2021, especially, after Hamilton only managed a seventh place finish.

“First of all, actions always speak louder than words,” said Verstappen. “I think that’s a good lesson after this weekend. You know you have to talk on the track. That’s what I like and yes, we, as a team, so far, made the smallest mistakes and that’s why we are ahead. So I hope we can keep that going for the rest of the season.

“If it’s there at the end of the season, that would be great. There is a long way to go. Of course it’s great to bounce back after the last two races where the gap got bigger. Yeah, we still have to work hard, because we know that Mercedes on normal tracks are the ones to beat. But a good, smooth weekend overall I think and this is a great boost for the whole team going forward,” summed up Verstappen.

Its been neck and neck between Verstappen and Hamilton so far in the 2021 F1 season, with the Dutchman now having a small lead of four points. The Brit’s seventh place is the first downer for him, whereas the Red Bull racer is yet to finish outside the Top 2.
