Max Verstappen, four-time Formula 1 champion, has unveiled a special edition helmet design ahead of what will be his last home race at the Dutch Grand Prix 2026.
The helmet design, inspired by traditional Delft ceramics, abandons its standard model for 2026 to adopt a combination of white and blue colors.
The new design incorporates intricate floral patterns and blue ornamental details around the lower sides of the helmet. The Red Bull and Oracle branding remains on the front, adding splashes of color, while Verstappen’s characteristic lion logo integrates at the top.
The race weekend, scheduled for August 21-23 in Zandvoort, will be the last Dutch Grand Prix. F1 and the event organizer previously agreed to a one-year extension covering the 2026 season, after which the organizer confirmed they would not pursue a long-term contract. As a result, Zandvoort will no longer be part of the calendar in 2027.
Verstappen presented the design on social media, stating: ‘For my last home race. Dankjewel Zandvoort’. At the time of writing, the post had reached over 305,000 ‘likes’. Another post, titled ‘An iconic Grand Prix. Unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime. Last home race, a special helmet, a tribute to the Netherlands and Zandvoort’, had garnered over 76,900 ‘likes’.
Fans reacted quickly to the new design. ‘A work of art,’ commented one follower, while another added: ‘Zandvoort will be greatly missed.’ Other comments included: ‘Max never disappoints,’ and ‘Absolutely stunning, Max!! Let’s go for a win in the last home race.’
The official of the Dutch Grand Prix also responded: ‘Our pleasure, Max. It’s an honor to have you in Zandvoort. One last Dutch GP together.’
Verstappen arrives at his last home race in sixth place in the driver standings with 109 points, 110 points behind championship leader Kimi Antonelli. Red Bull holds fourth place in the constructors’ championship with 177 points.
