The United States Grand Prix to be held in Austin will soon incorporate a new attraction that has generated significant anticipation. The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) plans to build the world’s largest bar in the shape of a cowboy hat, which could also enter the Guinness World Records.
The construction inspection is scheduled for this Thursday, just before the start of the race weekend. Bobby Epstein, president of COTA, confirmed that the structure will stand at a height of 23 meters, approximately 75 feet, and will include a Western-themed bar inside.
This attraction is part of the fan zone known as Lone Star Land, which has been designed to enhance the spectator experience and celebrate the Western lifestyle, very popular in Texas. The new bar promises an authentic atmosphere, with shows and activities related to cowboy culture.
Epstein has expressed that the idea of a tourist attraction with a world record was firm, aiming to create an iconic element visible even when Formula 1 is not present. Furthermore, he hopes that the hat will be permanently installed in the circuit, rather than being a mere temporary structure.
The competition for the record will not be easy, as there is a cowboy boot sculpture in San Antonio measuring 10.74 meters. Therefore, the new COTA attraction could set a new precedent and attract a large number of visitors throughout the year.
The Grand Prix weekend could also see Kimi Antonelli crowned as champion, while the Williams team will showcase its Marvel-themed car in the fan zone.
