Yuki Tsunoda sees AlphaTauri as ‘darkhorse’ now post its latest updates in F1 US GP with the points spree they have got.

Having had a low-key start to its F1 2023 campaign, AlphaTauri have picked up pace in the second half especially in the last few weekends where they have managed to get past Haas and Alfa Romeo both to be eighth in the standings.

They are few points behind Williams in the fight for seventh with two rounds remaining. There is a chance to beat them but it won’t be too easy or straight. Tsunoda considers AlphaTauri as darkhorse for the moment with the pace they are showing.

“Yeah, it is a big surprise and I think we are a darkhorse right now especially with other competitors,” said Tsunoda to media. “It is good, so far we scored points in the last three events, so I feel very good with it. I just keep doing like this race after race, now we are close to P7 in the championship, so if it is possible and we will do out best.

“Inside the car it feels very similar, better kind of balance but yeah, the results say everything, we definitely made a big step especially after the upgrades we had in Austin. Before Austin, we didn’t score enough points often. Now we’re scoring three races in a row. That shows everything,” summed up Tsunoda.
