Toyota F1 car plus worn apparels from Mercedes and Ferrari have been put up by FIA and RM Sotheby’s to raise money for International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
As COVID-19 pandemic wrecks lives worldwide, RM Sotheby’s have been involved in various charity auctions to raise money for various organisations. Rivals Bonhams had one for F1 earlier as now we have another one with the FIA involved too.
The current proceeds will go towards IFRC, where the FIA Foundation have made an immediate donation of one million euros, while have set up an auction too now. The bidding will start on June 15 with the end date on June 22 of this month.
The big prize to be won is the last Toyota F1 car – the TF109 (chassis #1). Among others, Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas’ race suits, boots and gloves can be bought along with race suits of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel.
Former F1 champion Damon Hill has donated his 1995 race suit and helmet for auction, while Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen has donated his Audi race suit from 2014. The last item on the list is a day with Ferrari in its F1 simulator.
