Toprak Razgatlioglu, Pramac Racing rider, is preparing for an MRI scan of his right shoulder to determine if he needs surgery, after suffering a fall during the Indonesian Grand Prix weekend.

The Turkish rider was violently thrown from his Yamaha during the last practice in Mandalika on Saturday, with a severe impact that resulted in a dislocation of his right shoulder. Surprisingly, Razgatlioglu was able to relocate his bone back into place and participated in the rest of the day’s sessions, qualifying 19th and finishing in the same position during the sprint race.

Despite his bravery, the injury began to affect him during the main race, forcing him to retire after just eight laps. The rider revealed that, although Pramac had given him the option to withdraw before the start, he chose to try, thinking he could overcome the pain. Ultimately, the lack of strength was decisive.

“My biggest problem today was the shoulder, not the bike,” Razgatlioglu stated. “On Saturday I felt relatively good, but on Sunday morning the situation had worsened a lot. I asked for a painkiller, but the pain wasn’t the main issue; it was the lack of strength after the dislocation.”

After finishing the race, Razgatlioglu expressed that he did not regret his decision to race, indicating that any other rider would likely have chosen to withdraw in similar situations. Now, the 29-year-old rider will travel to Turkey, where doctors will perform a complete scan to determine the future of his treatment.

“I have concerns because during the race I felt like my shoulder was dislocating again,” he explained. “I hope the rest is enough for the next race, and I trust to come back stronger next week, but I will have to wait for the results.”

After a promising Friday, in which he showed good pace, Razgatlioglu laments how the weekend ended, hoping to recover quickly so he can return to competition strongly.
