Timo Glock, DTM driver, has expressed his displeasure with what he considers an injustice in the distribution of resources within his team, Dörr Motorsport. After a difficult season, Glock made his frustration clear at a recent meeting, where he pointed out that the differences between him and his teammate Ben Dorr, son of the team owner, are evident.
Despite the criticism he has received, Glock has defended his skills behind the wheel, rejecting any insinuation that he cannot compete at the highest level. “I’m not too stupid to drive!”, he declared, emphasizing that both he and his team are aware of the limitations they suffer. “There is simply an A car and a B – and that’s all”, he asserted.
The driver explained that the team is held back by multiple technical problems. Glock qualified 18th and 19th in the last Grand Prix, while his teammate managed to qualify 2nd and 5th. “The problems are so extreme in qualifying that our hands are tied. I can’t do anything to change it”, he lamented.
Regarding traction control, Glock noted that during the qualifying phase, he experienced an anomalous behavior that did not allow him to navigate the corners effectively. “I lost five tenths in the first sector just because of this problem”, he explained.
Recently, the team changed the McLaren software, which, according to Glock, may have contributed to the lack of traction. “After complaints, the old version of the software was restored”, he clarified, highlighting that further work will be needed on the vehicle setup.
Despite the setbacks, Glock has enjoyed intense competitions during the race, highlighting his battles with other drivers. “This is what I’m here for – to show a great spectacle of racing”, he concluded, hoping for a favorable change in his performance and that of his team in upcoming tests.
