Lance Stroll doesn’t feel any difference in the Aston Martin car despite the updates, as he reckons Fernando Alonso is feeling good since he is scoring points.
Stroll started the F1 2025 season well with Aston Martin, but his results have since dipped while teammate Alonso has scored bulk of the team’s points off-late. The Canadian still has 14 points against his name to be 12th in the order, while the Spaniard sits 16th with eight.
Since the update in Imola, Alonso has felt better in the car, finishing consistently in the Top 10 in qualifying. In terms of points, he has managed to score in two and has been unlucky of sorts in couple of them. The Spaniard has praised the team’s effort, even though there’s still much to do.
But Stroll doesn’t see any difference in the car with the updates. He has had some issues with his wrist and was forced to miss the race in Barcelona as well. He reckons Alonso is saying good things because he has secured better results off-late, but he feels slow which will continue on in races to come.
“I don’t really feel any difference in the cars,” said Stroll to media. “Maybe he’s [Alonso] just been getting good results and he feels good in the car because of that, but… I don’t know. I felt pretty slow in Canada. I have no positives to take away from it.
“Just, I know we’re slow and I have a good feeling that it’s going to be the case again in Austria because the car has some characteristics that never change. And there’s probably limitations that I feel that never change, so it’s probably just going to be the same again and again and again,” summed up Stroll.
