Signatech maintains hope of competing in the 2027 World Endurance Championship with a rebranded version of its vehicle, the Alpine A424, although negotiations with Geely have collapsed at the last moment.
The team’s director, Philippe Sinault, has stated that he is exploring all options to secure the future of his team, with active talks with other manufacturers to take over Renault’s Hypercar program.
However, Sinault acknowledges that time is a crucial factor, as the deadline for registration for the WEC 2027 closes at the end of November. “We are fighting until the last moment; we have options, but the situation is not easy,” he declared.
After advanced talks between Renault and Geely that seemed promising, negotiations were interrupted in early October, leaving Signatech’s future in limbo. Nevertheless, Sinault has stressed that Geely was not the only option for the team, continuing discussions with other brands in an attempt to close a last-minute deal.
The director of Signatech assures that the team remains optimistic, pointing to the possibilities of arriving at a viable solution. Without detailing the reasons for the collapse of the pact with Geely, he indicated that they were prepared for this agreement. Geely’s decision, on the other hand, is a matter he does not wish to evaluate.
In the event that Signatech’s efforts to compete in Hypercar are unsuccessful, Sinault considers the possibility of returning to the scene in the near future. Nevertheless, he maintains that the priority is to remain in the Hypercar category, where the team has shown a strong track record.
