A documentary on Michael Schumacher titled ‘Schumacher’ was scheduled to release in December 2019 but has been postponed now.

The family of Schumacher is supporting the documentary on the German F1 driver, which is titled as ‘Schumacher’ and the marketing of the film kick-started during the 2019 Cannes Fil Festival, with B | 14 FILM being the production company.

German filmmakers Michael Wech and Hanns-Bruno Kammertons were named as the ones leading the documentary – having also made ‘Boris Becker: Der Spieler’ – while Benjamin Seikel and Vanessa Nocker were confirmed to be the producers of the film.

The B | 14 FILM are responsible for releasing the documentary in German territories, while London-based Rocket Science were roped in to deal with the international sales. An official release date wasn’t mentioned but reports suggested it to be in December 2019.

However, the documentary stands postponed after a statement from B | 14 FILM, as per English daily Mirror which stated: “Due to the very extensive material the directors and the production want to spend even more time to complete the film.”

It is not clear if the documentary will showcase the German’s current life but it is certain that it will carry the historical elements. There will be interviews and never-seen footage to showcase the life of Schumacher as the seven-time F1 champion with record 91 wins.

The premise will have Schumacher’s 50th birthday and 25th anniversary of first world title. The German’s memories is celebrated every now and then as son Mick recently drove the Ferrari F2002, which is to be auctioned next weekend during Abu Dhabi GP.

The Schumacher Jr is currently racing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Prema and will be in action at Yas Marina circuit for the one last time in 2019. He is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy and is expected to stay back in F2 for another season in 2020.
