A Formula 1 fan has brought to life the future circuit of the Rwanda Grand Prix using the video game Assetto Corsa, just days after the historic announcement of its inclusion in the competition’s calendar.

In less than 72 hours, a video featuring images of the recreated circuit has started circulating on social media, showing what the experience would be like from the vehicle’s cockpit. Although it is an approximation based on a single official image published, the result has captivated fans.

The creator of this mod, known as Nukedrop, has shared his project on platforms like YouTube, where he detailed that the creation took place in the last 24 hours. Using satellite images and real elevation data, he has positioned the circuit to fit the video game’s environment.

The Nukedrop circuit measures 4.65 km, considerably shorter than the official layout, which is expected to be around 6 km. The fan version includes a series of turns and a design that attempts to capture the essence of the real proposal, which has not yet been fully disclosed.

The engineers from WurzDesign, in collaboration with Tilke Engineering, promise that the circuit in Bugesera, about 40 km from Kigali, will feature a design with significant elevation changes and a straight of over 1 km that will facilitate overtaking maneuvers. They note that the inclines can reach up to 13%.

With the first Grand Prix scheduled for the early 2030s, the simulation community is currently relevant, and this project by Nukedrop is an ideal way to anticipate what awaits us. Until the official design is published, the digital recreation will be the closest option we have to experience the future circuit.
