British Oliver Rowland won pole in Sunday’s qualifying Formula Renault 3.5 in Alcaniz.
Debutant a top category World Series by Renault show 1,39,885 time, at 0.169 seconds ahead of Pietro Fantin. Piere Gasly lost almost half a second to leader and became third.
Rowland took the lead at the equator is a 30-minute session. Saturday’s race winner Carlos Sainz Jr. was fourth, ahead of Sergey Sirotkin. Saturday’s race prizewinner Nikolay Martsenko located only on the ninth position.
In the final session Martsenko first went on new tires and after the first attempt led in protocol, but later added and rivals. As a result, the pole was for Rowland, who on Sunday morning looked clearly preferable to others.
Briton Will Stevens and driver young program Red Bull Sainz have closed top five. Sirotkin showed 7th result, and Martsenko – only 12th. Another Russian Roman Mavlanov became the latest, 21st.
Already at the end time of the session in the gravel trap stuck Luca Giotto, who made a mistake and went off the track. As a result, there were yellow flags, and many drivers were not able to improve their results.
