The first session of free practice at the Interlagos circuit in Brazil, has been marked by rain, in fact the water is expected to accompany the drivers throughout the weekend. All drivers set their time with the intermediate tyres. The session was conducted almost without incident, only Lewis Hamilton spun in Turn 3 and an action that Grosjean has complained from van der Garde, although the Dutch had withdrawn to the outside to avoid disturbing.
At the start of the session, Red Bull have made aerodynamic tests with very bulky sensors. Test drivers who have had the chance to shoot in these workouts have been Kvyat (with Ricciardo’s Toro Rosso), James Calado (with di Resta’s Force India) and Rodolfo Gonzalez (with Chilton’s Marussia Felipe Massa has used a special helmet, all in red with Ferrari in his belt thanking the team.
This session has left us pretty spectacular images, with sliding cars out of corners, but Esteban Gutierrez starred the most colorful, with the rear wheels on the grass. Sebastian Vettel was the only driver out on slicks, with hard at first and then with the experimental for next year , but has only given an installation lap with each compound, as the rain began to fall with more intensity.
Finally, the best time is left in the hands of Nico Rosberg, with the time set in the first part of the session, when the track was less wet. At the end of the session some drivers have taken some risks and Esteban Gutierrez has spun without consequences. Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas have had two identical little accidents on the final turn.
