Daniel Ricciardo for the first time shows the extent of stitches on his left hand post surgery from the gym session he is in.
While it is certain that Ricciardo won’t make it on time for the Singapore GP, Red Bull chief Christian Horner noted of a possible Japanese GP return provided he is fully fit. It remains to be seen if that is possible or not but a return in Qatar GP is highly likely.
Ricciardo has been low-key and away from social media since the last update about surgery. But on Friday, the Australian showed the extent of the stitches on his left hand during a gym session. He captioned it as ‘relatively unchanged’.
It more or less hinted on Singapore being out of equation and seemingly put Japan on that list too. In the meantime, AlphaTauri did confirm Liam Lawson to be in the car until Ricciardo fully recovers and the Kiwi is certain to drive in at least one more race.
He is free to not just compete in Singapore but also Japan and Qatar if needed as his final Super Formula round only takes place late in October. The Kiwi has had a decent run in the two races and he came close to scoring a point in last weekend’s Italian GP.
