France has not hosted a F1 Grand Prix since 2008. After 10 years, the Paul Ricard Circuit will once again give the French country an F1 race. Renault, made a stopover in their country of origin before leaving for Australia, to “warm up” what is going to be the Grand Prix. Nice was the city chosen for the show of the rhombus team.

With Nico Hülkenberg and Alain Prost as the flag drivers of the show, they delighted in the rain the spectators on the streets of Nice. The current Renault driver rode in the Lotus E20 of the 2012 season and Prost, now with the position of sports advisor of the team, drove the Renault RE40 with which he was second in the 1983 championship.

The exhibition was held at the Promenade des Anglais, the avenue that runs along the coast of the French city. Although the weather, marked by rain, did not accompany, but for Hülkenberg it was a very good day: “It was a fantastic event, it is impressive to be able to drive on the Promenade des Anglais with a Formula 1 car. The sound was incredible. So famous in the south of France and you can not do this every day! It was a pity that the weather was so bad, I saw many people with a smile on their face, I think we have given a good show and hopefully we have given the people a preview of what is to come with the Grand Prix of France”, said the Renault driver.

Prost also had a good feeling about the event: “It was a great event in Nice, we were close to Paul Ricard, the home of the French Grand Prix. It was an initiative of Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice and president of the French GP. It was symbolic to have the RE40 on track with the E20, combining the old and the new, while the French GP returns after ten years off the calendar”, said Prost.
