Racing Point has pledged its support for title sponsor BWT’s mission for clean and sustainable water in Gambia.
In another step to help socially deprived people, Racing Point has pledged its support for BWT b.Water Mission, where the company is pushing to provide ‘sustainable, accountable and maintainable water systems in West Africa’s Gambia region.
With BWT planning to make wells in the region to help communities with safe water, the Racing Point drivers Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll will play a role in that as whenever they finish in the Top 10 throughout the 2020 F1 season, a well will be built in the villages.
“One of the key strengths of our partnership with BWT is a shared commitment to using our expertise and the global platform of sport to drive real progress in global sustainability projects,” said Racing Point team principal Otmar Szafnauer.
“BWT are already supporting the team in our push to cut down on single-use plastics in the F1 paddock – and with the b.Water Mission, we now have an opportunity to make an impact beyond the confines of the racetrack.
“As we make our long-awaited return to racing in Austria, we now have an even greater incentive to push for strong results and play our part in this fantastic initiative.” This initiative follows Racing Point’s earlier work with Breast Cancer.
