Lando Norris won the first race this weekend in Monza. The English driver had a great race ahead of Jehan Daruvala in the final laps. Ferdinand Habsburg completed the podium and the hat-trick of Carlin.
Spectacular was the first race of the weekend of the FIA ??Formula 3 in the Italian circuit of Monza. The drivers have a great performed in twenty very exciting laps full of overtaking, touches and intense fights for all parts of the classification. In the high part there has been much movement and the final positions have not been established until the last minute.
Surprisingly, the start has been done without problems and completely clean. Daruvala held the pole ahead of Jake Dennis, Ferdinand Habsburg and Lando Norris. At first, the Indian driver has escaped the rest, while the fight for the second place intensified. Dennis, Habsburg and Norris were exchanging positions for several laps, with many overtaking slowing down the pace and allowed to approach behind Joel Eriksson and Callum Illot, who also got into the fight.
Finally, after several laps of much action, Norris escaped of the rest and it undertook a great rhythm that made him approach little by little to Daruvala. Behind the British driver, the podium fight was increasing with the arrival of Zhou and Schumacher. Towards the end of the race, Maximilan Günther touched Jake Dennis and forced him to retire shortly after with damage to the car.
Günther fell to the sixth place, being advanced by all the drivers of this fight except by Callum Illot, that some laps that had fallen to its rhythm and was in ninth place. So that, Habsburg headed the group in the fight for the podium with Joel Eriksson to its wake.
Ahead the race reached its climax when Norris in a spectacular maneuver overcame Daruvala and took the victory in this start of the weekend in Monza. Daruvala was hooked on his back with no option for more and finished second, while five seconds behind Habsburg finished completing the podium and the treble of Carlin, who is in a very good moment.
Eriksson finished fourth just ahead of Zhou, Schumacher, Günther, Aron, Illot and Hughes, who completing the Top 10. Also noteworthy the discreet performance of the Van Amersfoort Racing that could not pass from the 14th position of Joey Mawson.
The second classification will be played from 16:45 this afternoon at the Italian circuit of Monza.
