Marc Marquez secured yet another MotoGP pole ahead of Alex Marquez in Aragon GP, as Franco Morbidelli was third to make it Ducati 1-2-3-4.
Q1:
The start of first part in MotoGP qualifying in Aragon GP saw an early fall for Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi at Turn 3 after going over the kerb. He rushed back to the pits to hop onto the second bike. In the meantime, Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo led the way with a 1m47.078s lap.
VR46 Ducati’s Fabio di Giannantonio was second after the first run, with Yamaha’s Alex Rins not far off in third from Trackhouse Aprilia’s Raul Fernandez and Pramac Yamaha’s Jack Miller in the Top 5. Just as the second run kick-started, Bezzecchi faced issues on the second bike he hopped on.
He managed to get back in the pits to get it fixed as quickly as possible, which the team did. It was a close fight at the top to make it into Q2. It was di Giannantonio, who set the pace with a 1m46.610s lap, to make it in, with Quartararo also in after finishing only 0.021s behind.
Fernandez missed out in third to be 13th for the two races ahead of Miller and Rins in the Top 15. Pramac’s Miguel Oliveira was 16th from Tech 3 KTM’s Enea Bastianini, with Yamaha wildcard Augusto Fernandez in 18th from the Aprilia pair of Lorenzo Savadori & Bezzecchi, as LCR Honda’s Somkiat Chantra rounded out the 21 MotoGP runners.
