Fracnesco Bagnaia controlled eventually to win MotoGP Sprint in Italian GP from Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin in a Ducati 1-2-3-4-5.

It was a clean start from pole-sitter Francesco Bagnaia on his Ducati in the MotoGP Sprint in Italian GP from Honda’s Marc Marquez, as a slow one for Gresini Ducati’s Alex Marquez left him in the mid-pack where he was collected by KTM’s Brad Binder.

The South African tried an inside move but hit Marquez which forced the latter to retire, while the former was handed a Long Gap Penalty. He also had a moment with Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo few laps into the grand prix but hung on.

Pramac Ducati’s Jorge Martin was up to third from VR46 Ducati’s Luca Marini, KTM’s Jack Miller, VR46’s Marco Bezzecchi, Pramac’s Johann Zarco and Binder in the Top 8 points places, with Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro in ninth from LCR Honda’s Alex Rins.

The LCR rider had a crash midway in the grand prix as rain started to fall at certain part of the Mugello circuit. It bunched up the field and allowed Martin to lead from Bagnaia. But the Italian came back on him retake the lead eventually.

There was a moment between Marquez and Miller which dropped the former to fag end of the Top 8, as Bezzecchi pounced on Martin to take second. Zarco climbed up to fourth from Marini, with Miller in sixth ahead of Marquez and Ducati’s Enea Bastianini.

The returning Italian steadied in eighth but had Espargaro, Quartararo and Binder on his tail. At the front, Bagnaia had it under control to win the MotoGP Sprint in Italian GP as Bezzecchi was a sound second from the two Pramac riders.

Zarco hurried teammate Martin but couldn’t get past him for third, as Marini was fifth from Miller and Marquez. The final lap saw Espargaro snatch the final point away from Bastianini, with Quartararo rounding the Top 10 riders from Binder.
