McLaren keeps on top in Jerez on day 3

Today, most teams have completed much more laps than in previous days, though there have been six red flags, three of them this morning (read why in this article).

The afternoon has not been easier, firstly, there was a red flag caused by a crash of Adrian Sutil, who seems to have suffered a failure in his Sauber.

The news of the afternoon have been the debut of the MR03 of Marussia, driven by Chilton and the debut of Kevin Magnussen in a Formula 1 in Jerez. Finally, we know all the cars of 2014. The Danish driver has completed a lot of laps in the Mclaren, learning a lot and improving times in every lap. He and his car have shown a very good pace. The McLaren is being the most reliable car so far.

The final two red flags of the day have been caused by another Renault engine, the one of the Toro Rosso. Both times the car has stopped at the end of the pit lane. Red Bull has not completed any lap after the engine failure of this morning, so it’s a poor start for Renault, now it’s time to look for solutions.

The Mercedes W05 (driven by Lewis Hamilton today) has been the second car that has completed most laps today. At the end of the day, Magnussen has set the best time of the week, so the nightmare of Renault is being a sweet dream for Mercedes, at least by now. Massa has set the second best time in the last minute.
