After a first season in Formula 1 in 2014 with McLaren, Kevin Magnussen was found without a seat for this 2015 season. Regardless of this, the Danish driver thinks his Formula 1 career is not over.

If his chances to get a Manor seat for 2016 are almost impossible, Magnussen thinks about 2017 as Massa, Button and Raïkkönen are facing the end of their contracts and a changeable Alonso whose career mostly depends of the results of the McLaren-Honda car. Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet reports Magnussen’s sayings:

“Soon something is going to happen which has not happened in a long time”

“Several drivers are probably going to retire, so it’s important to still be close to Formula 1.”

Even after being dropped by McLaren for Stoffel Vandoorne at the end of 2015, Magnussen tries to get back to competition after having tested Porsche’s LMP1 and Mercedes DTM cars.

“I feel like I will get out and race again, as I would like to”

“It is hard to say what it will be at the moment, but no matter where I compete, I’ll give it my best.”

If Kevin Magnussen does not find a seat for 2016 after a blank 2015 year, his chances to come back in Formula 1 in 2017 would be null.
