Prague team scored this year’s another point despite demanding conditions thanks to Marco Sørensen 10th place, the Dane showed consistent performance on a dry and on wet conditions, and finished in the top ten in both races at Motorland Aragón.

Challenging weather conditions welcomed drivers in traditionally sunny Spain and left the track extremely wet for Sunday’s qualification, which had to be interrupted due to many driver´s errors three times by red flags. Marco Sørensen starting to get up to speed in the end of the session, but his best attempt was interrupted with last red flag. For the race he clocked 13th starting position.

 

Due to a huge amount of standing water on the track, the second race of the weekend started behind the safety car, which leave the track to the pits after three laps. Marco Sørensen hesitated in almost zero visibility only once, when he slide and fell down to the 16th place. Subsequently he worked his way forward. In the final lap of the race Marco beat Mikhail Aleshin for tenth place which means another Spanish point of the weekend.

 

Marlon Stöckinger was harmed by treacherous slippery track already in a very first lap before the race, getting aquaplaning, ended up in the gravel zone from which he could not get out.

 

The next event of Formula Renault 3.5 season will be held together with the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix the 25th and 26th of May.

 

Marco Sørensen„”As soon the race were given free, the visibility were almost gone. With minimal amount of grip, the car felt very much alive. Few laps after I had a quick spin and I lost some positions. We have had some ups and downs through this weekend. Today the qualify messed up which affected the race a lot. We will keep on pushing to get the everything perfectly running before the next race, I’m sure our hard work will pay off in the end.”

 

Marlon Stöckinger: „However, during the way on the grid I spun and ended up in the gravel trap. These things usually do not happen to me, but today I just did not have my day. I would like to say sorry to my team. In next races it will be much better! ““
