The British driver, Lewis Hamilton, caught attention upon his arrival at the paddock of the Miami Grand Prix of Formula 1 with a bold look designed by Saint Laurent.
The suit of the Ferrari driver consisted of an eye-catching translucent orange parka, worn over a burnt orange satin shirt with a collar and a burgundy tie. He completed his style with relaxed-fit dark brown trousers and classic black leather shoes.
Hamilton has turned the path to the paddock into a personal runway over the past few years. Recently, he commented on the need to break some rules to express himself freely in an interview with Esquire.
“To be a racing driver, you had to fit a prototype: go to bed at 10 PM and dress in a specific way. For most of my career, every driver showed up in outfits designed by people outside the fashion; the clothes were horrible,” he explained.
“I would arrive and feel terribly dressed in the same thing for 180 days of the year. I asked if I could show up in my own style and change afterwards. It took time for them to accept my proposal. Basically, I had to break the rules.”
Hamilton added: “One day I showed up in my own clothes. Once they saw the attention and positive coverage this generated, and how it elevated the brand and the team, they allowed me to do it every day.”
This incident occurs at a time when Hamilton has had a good start to the 2026 season. He achieved his first podium with Ferrari at the Chinese Grand Prix and currently sits fourth in the drivers’ championship with 41 points. Additionally, Ferrari is second in the constructors’ standings with a total of 90 points.
The F1 season will continue at the Miami GP, which will take place from May 1 to 3 and will include the second sprint race of the year.
