Fabio Leimer became GP2 Champion today after he finished fourth in the race. Rossi and Palmer fight for the win. Finally the rokkie Rossi gets his first victory in GP2.
This race has been a very eventful race, since the race began it has been some trouble on the first start several driders stuck in their positions. In the second try Sam Bird couldnt start properly and he would stand to avoid penalty for jump start. He could continue in the race but in the last position taking advantage of the SC developed after the crash between Lancaster and Dillman quite dangerous. Leimer gets third place with a great start and his only goal was to stay on points to take the maximum advantage to Bird. While Palmer and Rossi were in a GAP between half and two seconds. They fight for the race. After the first stop Bird recover to the 17th position and he enters in box to avoid traffic. Leimer also go pits and in the come back to the race he had some troubles with Raimondo losing some problems. The championship was still open
In the last laps Bird was trying to overtake but it was so difficult because he was one of the first drivers to go pit. Anyway he was pushing hard.
Rossi would overtake Palmer in pits after his stop. 10 laps to go and both drivers fight for the victory. A crash between Evans and Canamasas in the last turn made the SC out, it could help Bird to recover the GAP between the other drivers. He was right now 10th. Leimer was third in this SC restart but Ericcson overtook him some laps later. Leimer stays in this 4th position getting the GP2 championship after he got enough points against Bird
