Lapo Elkann urges Ferrari to look beyond politics to win

Lapo Elkann, F1, Ferrari

Lapo Elkann – brother of Ferrari boss John – has urged the F1 team to look beyond politics and push towards wins.

In a different note, brother of Ferrari boss Lapo took to social media to vent his frustrations at the current state of the Italian F1 team and its performances. He pointed towards the politics that goes on behind the scenes and urged them to look beyond that to win.

“Ferrari Needs Seriousness and Winning Team in the Pits and Outside it’s time to WAKE UP enough with politics and games so you will NEVER WIN,” wrote Lapo. He subsequently replied to multiple people on the post too where one noted if now things will change.

But Lapo responded with ‘unfortunately not’ to that remark while adding that things needs to be said in open. Another pointed towards lack of fan connection from the Ferrari President or other delegates via press releases or statements.

This is was likely directed towards the likes of John and Benedetto Vigna along with Frederic Vasseur, to which Lapo responded with a affirmative. But one of the major remark came at Ferrari sponsor Santander, whom he regarded as a terrible bank for him.

The Spanish bank returned to sponsor Ferrari last year likely because of Carlos Sainz’s presence and Lapo indirectly indicated Santander to be meddling with the affairs considering he responded to the tweet which noted about the same.

Having had a difficult start to its F1 2023 campaign, Ferrari is once again on the firing line especially by Tifosi who give their all in the team’s support. There is some weight behind Lapo’s words considering he is part of the board of directors at Fiat Group.
