Kyffin Simpson, young driver of Chip Ganassi Racing, is preparing to compete in the upcoming IndyCar Grand Prix at Nashville Superspeedway. The 21-year-old driver, who last year achieved a notable fourth place, hopes to replicate or improve that performance this weekend.

Currently, Simpson sits in 15th place in the championship standings. He has shown an impressive return this year, including a fourth position at Road America last month. The return to Nashville brings him a sense of confidence and an opportunity to make a difference in his competition.

Last year’s race on the 1.33-mile oval was a turning point in his development, as he felt completely connected with the car. Simpson remains optimistic, although weather conditions may play an important role.

“The team was very strong last year. I felt very comfortable, and it was the first oval outside Indianapolis where I really felt good,” commented Simpson. “As I wait to replicate last year’s performance, my goal is to predict an even better result.”

The young driver recalls that racing at the front of the grid provides great experience, turning early mistakes into a refined performance. “Racing alongside the best forces you to learn quickly,” added Simpson.

Despite experiencing disorganized races, his initial goal of securing a spot in the top ten of the championship remains within reach. With four finishes in the top-10 throughout his career, a good performance in Nashville could be the boost he needs.

“I firmly believe it is possible to secure a spot in the top ten in the championship this season. We still have circuits ahead where I think we will be competitively strong, and Nashville can be a good weekend for us,” he concluded.
