Jack Miller, Pramac Racing rider in MotoGP, has revealed that negotiations with Yamaha for his future are progressing and that an announcement could be made public in the coming weeks. The Australian has hinted that he could make the jump to the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) next year, bringing an end to twelve seasons in MotoGP.
Yamaha plans to promote Izan Guevara from Moto2 to pair with Toprak Razgatlioglu at Pramac, leaving little room for Miller in the satellite team. However, the relationship between the rider and the Japanese manufacturer could continue, with the possibility that Miller replaces Xavi Vierge in the production category.
When asked if he was talking to Yamaha about 2027, Miller said: ‘Yes, we are talking with everyone to understand what the best step forward is. I’m excited and hope to have news soon, but if we don’t, it’s not a big deal.’
The rider has emphasized his desire to continue working with Yamaha, with whom he has achieved two podiums at the 8 Hours of Suzuka, as well as a fifth place as his best result in MotoGP. ‘I’m on a similar page,’ he added. ‘I have really enjoyed working with Yamaha.’
With MotoGP preparing for the introduction of Pirelli tires in 2027, WSBK is also gearing up for a significant change with Michelin as the new tire supplier. Miller believes that his experience with Michelin tires could be an advantage, although he acknowledges that Ducati has shown immense strength in this competition.
After previous uncertainty in MotoGP following his departure from KTM, Miller found support to secure his presence on the grid. However, he is now aware of his limits, stating that his destiny in MotoGP is up in the air, although he is enjoying his best form. ‘I know it’s a strange feeling, but I’m also aware of reality,’ he concluded.
