The IndyCar driver and Fox Sports reporter, Jack Harvey, announced this Tuesday that he has been diagnosed with cancer. Through social media, the 33-year-old Brit has shared his determination to face this situation while staying focused on his motorsport goals for the upcoming season.
In recent years, Harvey has worked as a reporter on the tracks for Fox, covering IndyCar events. Although he hasn’t competed full-time during this period, he has participated in the last two editions of the Indianapolis 500 with the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing team, where he was a teammate of Ryan Hunter-Reay in 2025 and Conor Daly in 2026.
His IndyCar career began in 2017, and in 2020 he completed his first full-time season with Meyer Shank Racing. Despite the diagnosis, Harvey states that he continues to prepare to be present in the 2027 season, with the goal of also competing in the Indianapolis 500 next May.
In his message, Harvey expressed: ‘Life has presented me with a new challenge. I was recently diagnosed with cancer. My goals for 2027 have not changed; I hope to be on the grid in St. Petersburg and get back in the race car this May to prepare for the 500 Miles.’ The driver thanked the support of his environment, including his family and the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing team.
Harvey concludes his message with a firm commitment: ‘I have never shied away from a challenge in my life and this circumstance is no different. So… let’s go for it!’
