Next weekend, the Virginia International Raceway will host the only race of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship dedicated exclusively to GT vehicles. With a total of 23 entries, the competition promises an intense battle among participants from different teams.

Notable changes in entries
One of the most notable changes in the entry list is the return of YRB Racing to production competitions. After competing in the GTD during the last six-hour competition of the Michelin Endurance Cup, the ‘Car Blanche’ team returns with a new addition. Factory Aston Martin driver Marco Sorensen will make his debut with this team, sharing the vehicle with Valentin Hasse-Clot aboard the #68 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo.
This driver change is the only one that has occurred between the two classes since the last race held at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, where Tom Gamble was temporarily replaced by Roman De Angelis while fulfilling his duties in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Activity schedule
On-track activities will begin on Friday, August 21, with the first practice session. Saturday will feature final practices followed by qualifying, which will determine the grid for the main race. The two-hour and 40-minute race will start on Sunday at 12:10 p.m. EST.
