F2 racer and Toyota protege Ritomo Miyata gets his first taste of F1 with Haas under the TPC programme alongside Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman.

Unlike other F1 teams in the past, Haas has announced about its first Testing Previous Car run in Jerez in Spain this week, which is the first of many to come. The American team associated with Toyota last year to utilise the TPC programme as allowed under the FIA regulations.

As part of the association, Ryo Hirakawa undertook testing in Abu Dhabi with Haas. He has since moved to Alpine as its reserve, while Toyota has handed another of its protege Miyata his first F1 test run with the American outfit this week. The Japanese youngster is to continue in F2 in 2025, switching to ART.

The first to drive the 2023’s VF-23 will be Bearman on Wednesday morning at Jerez, with Miyata taking over in the afternoon. Similarly, Ocon will drive on Thursday morning, with the Japanese driver completing off the two-day test run in the afternoon.
